Photo News: The count down has begun till our May Bluedog Photography Weekend Retreat and again it is shaping up to be a terrific weekend. There are still a couple of places available and don’t forget that all of those attending go into a draw to win a fabulous 2 night midweek stay at the fabulous Witches Falls Cottages on Tamborine Mountain. New to the Bluedog Workshop program is a set of workshops designed for those who are interested in writing. We welcome Christine Retschlag, an award winning journalist with an immense depth of knowledge. Now you could find out how to package those photos with text and earn an extra income! Please if you have registered your interest for the wildlife workshop could you contact us ASAP. During the past few weeks we have had a few computer ‘issues’ and along the way some of the names have floated into cyber spaced! The computer gremlins also meant we lost a few emails so if you have subscribed and have not received our newsletter please send us an email and we will get you back on the list. Ah and computers they say are meant to save us time! We have also had a busy two months with some exciting photography shoots. We visited the Childers region and snake man Ian Jenkins – great show – and stayed with Jan and Terry at Mango Hill B&B. They have just commenced a winery and their Shiraz is a very fine drop. If you make it up this way call into Steaky Beaks Jam Factory – their relish is delightful. From there we hoped across to Lady Musgrave on board the Spirit of the 1770 for a fantastic spot of snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. Please remember workshops are regularly updated between newsletter sends as requests come in on our Photography Workshops and Retreats page of our web site. Keep
the feedback coming on in! It's simple just e-mail
us. Keep
Those Fingers Clicking!

What's
On: Workshops, Retreats and Outings:
The Bluedog Team of wonderfully talented professional photographers have a wealth of knowledge to share and have taught various aspects of photography throughout Australia. You may be a good photographer but that does not mean you can teach. We all continue to work as professional photographers and have the confidence and patience to take you on exciting paths with your work.
Registration and receipt of place is essential as numbers are limited. We want the workshops to continue to be very personalised so that you may gain the maximum from the workshops. Remember we do need you to book your place and after you book you receive a registration form. Once we receive this back with payment to secure your position then you are booked. View our terms and conditions. An outline of each workshop and retreat itinerary is listed on Photography Workshops and Retreats |

Photo Trivia: Did You Know? Did you know that Samuel Morse, the man accredited for inventing Morse Code is also acclaimed to be the first person to take the first known group portrait. Morse became involved with daguerreotypes after meeting Louis Daguerre, the creator of the daguerreotype in Paris in 1939. On returning to the United States of America Morse went on and published an article on this new process and was one of the first Americans to successfully make daguerreotypes in the United States.

Dedication
to the Masters of the Lens American photographer Anna-Lou “Annie” Leibovitz was born in Connecticut in 1949. Annie trained at the San Francisco Art Institute and her style has become recognized for the close collaboration that exists between the photographer and her subjects. One of our personal favourite collections of Annie’s work is Women and this image of Louise Bourgeois, Sculptor, New York City.
