About Tamborine Mountain

While on the mountain for a Bluedog Photography workshop, course or retreat, why not discover more?

The unique and beautiful Tamborine Mountain, or as some call it Mount Tamborine, is situated 25km inland from Surfers Paradise and 70 km south from Brisbane, Queensland Australia. It is truly 'the green behind the gold'. Rising 580 metres, the mountain has become a tranquil retreat not only for those who live in the pristine environment and those that retreat for a weekend away, but also for an enormous amount of amazing flora and fauna protected within the magnificent parks and gardens on the mountain.

In fact, Tamborine Mountain has seven national parks within 10kms of each other, and boasts Queensland's oldest National Park (also the third oldest in the world). Walking through the rainforest is a must when visiting the mountain - see waterfalls, towering palms, ancient cycads, huge strangler figs, the elusive Albert Lyre Bird and at night, glow worms, glowing fungi and other nocturnal animals that take refuge in the beautiful forest. Esme Street Park is a community nurtured section of rainforest suitable for wheel chairs.

Other than bushwalking we can recommend you:
1. Visit the Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens.

2. Watch the hanggliders take off from the lookout on Main Western Road.
